Warm-up: Read If You Were There on page 6 of the textbook, and then answer the question below that paragraph. Whole class, discuss possible answers. Classwork: 1) Students - imagine that you are historians living in the year 2999 writing about the young people on the early 2000s. Describe what clues they might have left behind and how their generation should be remembered. Topics may include music, food clothing, education, entertainment, etc. Review your comments and list the most important points for a future historian to know about this generation. 2) Create a 3-column chart with the following headings: Historian / Archaeologist / Geologist. As you read pages 6 through Understanding Through History on page 8, write on your chart what each type of person does for a living. Give examples. Then, in a small paragraph explain how these careers are alike and different. 3) Read pages 10 and 11, and answer question 3 - a,b,and c on page 11. Answer in full sentences, not phrases.
